Drink Too Much? Here are some Hangover Remedies to Get You Out of Bed.

First, I am not a clinician.  The remedies featured here consist of a compilation of hangover remedies featured on other websites. I am not responsible for the validity of the other sites publishing, nor should anyone attempt anything they are unsure of without consulting his or her physician.

...In other words, I thought they looked legit and would spread the word.  Attempt at your own risk. Now that I have that out of the way...

GIZMODO "The World's 19 Weirdest Hangover Remedies."
The beer, alcohol, and the shots tasted good going down, but too much too quickly can lead to a horrible hangover.  For those of you just now getting out of bed, I have a list of remedies you might want to try.  Attempt at your own risk.

  • Hair of the Dog?- Okay, so maybe drinking again to cover up the symptoms of the previous night's drinking may not be the greatest idea, but it can work to curve that headache feeling.  Personally, a good old fashion Bloody Mary or a Chelada (Beer mixed with tomato juice) from Budweiser or Modelo is part of my remedy.

  • Alka-Seltzer- I am pretty sure Alka-Seltzer is my Windex ("Big Fat Greek Wedding" reference). I used to think only a "mature audience" used Alka-Seltzer for ailments, but have found it to save my rear more than once.  CNN even included it in their "10 Hangover Remedies."

  • Vitamin C- A great source for vitamin C? Orange juice! Drink a glass. You'll need it.
  • Pickles?-  According to About.com's "Hangover Cures," Eastern Europeans commonly drink pickle juice to cure hangovers.
  • Hydration, Hydration, Hydration- Water. Simple right? Most sites recommend drinking two full glasses prior to going to bed the night before. How Stuff Works "7 Natural Hangover Cures that Work," states adding a touch of salt can help clear out toxins.

The Don'ts of Hangover Cures...
  • Popping Aspirin- Most sites state that excessive drinkers should not take the pain reliever as it thins the blood in the same manner that alcohol does.
  • Hangover Pills-  We have all seen them in our local gas stations, but in studies referenced around the web, test groups given a placebo stated the "Hangover pill" worked for them; therefore, there is no credible evidence showing these pills actually work.  In other words, don't waste the money.
  • Greasy Breakfast-No Denny's? What?! It is actually recommended not to eat a greasy breakfast because the food can make the symptoms of the hangover worse.

According to one of my uncles, "Tequila cures everything."  Do you have a cure that works? Please add your comments!
